It’s back!
The Seattle Seahawks prevailed on the road over the Indianapolis Colts to open up the 2021 NFL season, and it was... honestly kinda boring? There were some great plays (obviously) but it wasn’t exactly a dramatic, intense game. Seattle had a double-digit lead for the entire second half and didn’t let Indy make a furious late game rally.
I prefer it that way. Really I think we all do. These past few seasons of nothing but close finishes is unhealthy.
And so begins a brand new season of Enemy Reaction. Comments from Colts fans are courtesy of Stampede Blue. But wait, there’s more! There’s even a little bonus Enemy Reaction to revisit the classic overtime ending between the Las Vegas Raiders and Baltimore Ravens!

Post-Game Recap: Inconsistency was the theme for the Colts (Cody Manning, Colts Wire)
The biggest problem with both sides of the ball was that they lacked any type of consistency on the day. The defense came out slow in the first half, gave up scoring drives on the first two possessions of the game by Seattle.
Wilson would go on to end the half with a 69-yard touchdown pass to Lockett with 41 seconds left on the clock. But then they flipped the switch in the 3rd quarter, forced the Seahawks to punt three times, and forced a fumble on their first four drives in the second half. But when they were on, the offense failed to get anything going. They had four three-and-outs on the day, two of which occurred when the defense was shutting down the Hawks.
It might be a simple thing to say, but the offense just needs to focus on getting that first down of every drive next week. The bad definitely outweighs the good but there is still a chance this can be a good team if they can work out the kinks over the next few weeks.

Up next is Seattle’s home opener against a Tennessee Titans team that got beaten down at home by the Arizona Cardinals. You have to go back to the dreaded 2008 season to find the Seahawks’ last home opener defeat, and there’s no doubt in my mind that we’ll be in for a special crowd atmosphere after not being able to attend any games at Lumen Field in 2020.
Thanks for reading and go ‘Hawks!
