Another guard? WHY NOT?! The Seattle Seahawks need competition on the interior of the offensive line, and Sataoa Laumea can provide just that. The former player for the Utah Utes has a lot to offer this team as a depth player with possible starting potential. Developmental prospects are important, and it will be interesting to see where he fits in Mike Macdonald’s scheme. Dane Brugler had him graded as a fourth-round prospect, so this seems like a good value pick for the offense. Here was his analysis:
Overall, Laumea is at his best leveraging gaps in the run game, although movement pattern flaws as a pass blocker requires NFL coaching before he sees the fieldat the next level. He has the versatile experience to play tackle in a pinch but has a guard skill set with down-the-road starting potential.
His performance on the field is what will ultimately matter, so let’s see how he looks in action!
