It might be summer break before the start of training camp, but the work never really stops for NFL players.
Current Seattle Seahawks star wide receiver DK Metcalf got in some offseason training with his old pal Russell Wilson, former Denver Broncos double agent starter and now a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. We even have a John Ursua sighting!
The video below was shot at the UCLA campus by one of Wilson’s personal trainers, John Shackleton:

Wilson and Metcalf linked up for 195 catches, 2,919 yards and 29 touchdowns when they were Seahawks teammates from 2019 to 2021. The prolific deep ball passing abilities of Russ combined with DK’s outstanding deep ball skills made for a quality combo for as long as it lasted. Those two have worked out together in seasons past, although I don’t recall this happening when Wilson was in Denver.
There were conflicting reports over whether or not the Steelers looked into acquiring Metcalf in a massive trade. Either way, there’s no reason to believe a Metcalf to Pittsburgh move is imminent. If Wilson wants to throw to a talented receiver wearing No. 14, he already has George Pickens on the squad. He’s definitely not a better blocker than Metcalf, though.
And yeah, you know exactly what sort of headline I could’ve used for this article, but I didn’t do it. You’re welcome.
