The Seattle Seahawks have reportedly added another running back to the mix, one month out from the start of training camp.
Aaron Wilson reports that the Seahawks have signed Ricky Person Jr, days after he won the inaugural United Football League (UFL) championship with the Birmingham Stallions. Person apparently weighed multiple offers from NFL teams and chose Seattle.

The 6’1, 220-pound Person Jr played four seasons at North Carolina State from 2018-2021, racking up just under 2,000 yards on 455 carries, scoring 14 rushing touchdowns along the way. He also caught 57 passes for 482 yards and 4 touchdowns.
The Baltimore Ravens signed Person as an undrafted free agent but he did not make the regular season roster. He signed with the Birmingham Stallions in 2023, back when they were in the USFL. Person saw sporadic playing time but did win the USFL title. After the XFL and USFL merged to form the UFL, Person stayed with the Stallions and saw his role significantly increase. He led all UFL running backs with 6 touchdowns, rushing for 295 yards on 93 carries (3.2 yards per carry).
In the UFL championship game against the San Antonio Brahmas, Person burst through with 102 yards on 13 carries in Birmingham’s 25-0 shutout win.
Here are some of Person’s college highlights:
Seattle is already at the 90-man roster limit, so a corresponding move will need to be made to get Person on the team.
