For a consecutive year, fans of the Seattle Seahawks have come into May with a buzz of excitement about the team’s recent acquisitions.
According to the latest fan survey sponsored by DraftKings Sportsbook, the vast majority of the 12s believe John Schneider turned in a winning ticket in the 2024 draft.

It starts up top, with the team’s first selection Byron Murphy as one of the favorites across the league to be an elite player. Murphy lands in a small group of players that play a premium position with enough every-down impact to legitimately be one of the most impactful players of this class.

If there was perhaps one glaring surprise in this draft, it’s that Seattle took not one but two Auburn corners, while not addressing the safety position at all.

Quandre Diggs incoming?
Regardless, the Seahawks do lay claim to a growing handful of versatile secondary players. I would offer Devon Witherspoon, Coby Bryant, and perhaps one of the new additions like D.J. James as players who are well-suited to move around in the fluidity of Mike Macdonald’s scheme.
So while they didn’t draft a true safety, there may be a creative solution in the works.
Regardless, optimism reigns as Seattle gears up for offseason training camp in a couple of months.
Go Hawks!
