With mandatory minicamp complete and training camp not starting until the end of July, this is going to be the quietest part of the NFL offseason.

The Seattle Seahawks have been anything but quiet from the moment their playoff hopes were dashed on the final day of the regular season. Pete Carroll was booted from his head coach and front office roles for a vaguely specified “advisory” position within the organization. An expansive, exhaustive search landed the Seahawks former Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald. The successor to the NFL’s oldest head coach is the league’s current youngest head coach. Washington Huskies offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb made the jump from college to the pros to take the same role with the Seahawks. He’s by far the most prominent assistant on Macdonald’s staff.

Jamal Adams and Quandre Diggs were both released and aren’t even signed yet, Will Dissly was let go as a cap casualty, while high-profile free agents Jordyn Brooks, Damien Lewis, and Bobby Wagner were not retained. The most prominent retained Seahawks free agents were Leonard Williams and Noah Fant, while their outside free agent signings included linebackers Tyrel Dodson and Jerome Baker, safety Rayshawn Jenkins, and reuniting with George Fant.

The NFL Draft saw the Seahawks stand pat at No. 16 and take Texas’ Byron Murphy II, who should be a huge boost to Seattle’s interior defensive line. Two rounds later, the Seahawks addressed their guard situation by taking UConn’s Christian Haynes. Absent in this year’s draft class? A quarterback, because the Seahawks restructured Geno Smith’s Just about anything goes as long as it’s after Seattle’s 2023 regular season finale against the Arizona Cardinals.

There have been a lot of big decisions by Seattle in terms of the roster and the coaching staff. Share your thoughts on the best moves the Seahawks made (or didn’t make) this offseason.
